 TRIAL - X - Maspalomas JulySan Bartolomé de Tirajana Trail-X is the first points-earning race of the Trail-X Trans Adventure Tour series, and every year more than 200 participants come together in Gran Canaria to race in one of the available categories. The event starts in Maspalomas, in south of the island. Other races held at the same time as Gran Canaria Trail-X 58 are the Relay Trail Run (2x29Km), Half marathon (21 Km), Hike, and Kids’ Race. |  Fiesta de La Rama - Agaete AugustA popular festivity breaking the laughter record every year. Laughter can be heard in the first few days of August, when the quiet town of Agaete is revolutionised with the preparations for the “Fiesta de la Rama”. The “Rama” is the focal point of the festivities of Virgen de las Nieves. It is of enormous symbolic value which was declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest in 1972. An ancient ritual in which a line of dancers weaves its way from the Tamadaba pine grove to the sea, moving pi |  Our Lady of the Pine procession. SepOur Lady of the Pine is the patron saint of Gran Canaria and her special day, a feast day in nearly every part of the island, is Sep the 8th. The night before, a procession is held in her honour in the town of Teror, with participants from the 21 municipalities of Gran Canaria and visitors from the other six islands who come to the basilica to offer up the products of the land to the patron saint and celebrate through their folk traditions. |
 Ultra Trail Challenge OctoberUltra Trail Gran Canaria has become one of the best ways of combining racing and the chance to enjoy the Island’s best scenery, because the four distances of the event (175, 82, 45 and 18 km trail) make it possible to cross the island from one end to the other in a circular route. All participants begin this challenge at the beach in Melenara, on the coast of Telde, and can take part either individually or in teams. |  EVENTS AROUND GRAN CANARIAInternational music, sport, dance, theatre and cinema festivals including many carnival celebrations and fiestas.
